We call ourselves Bininj. Although we are made up of a number of different clans and speak different dialects, we share a common main language of Kunwinjku.

All the Njanjma Clans 'share one water' - that is we all have a relationship to and responsibility for the areas around the mid and upper reaches of the East Alligator River.

We have always looked after this country together, and the Njanjma Rangers is a new way for us to continue doing this. Our ranger program is supported through the Djabilukgu Association Incorporated, which is the representative organisation for many of the Njanjma clans.
